Colourful Thursday – Colour using distress markers

I have bought some Distress markers recently. So, today I would like to share a card which is coloured with some Distress markers.

I love this rose garden stamp so much. I have used it with Pearl Dabber and distress ink before. It was so nice. Today I embossed it with clear embossing powder and then coloured it with distress markers, really gave a new look to this background stamp.

For the sentiment, I stamp it with color box silver pigment ink on a piece of vellum. The floral background went very well with the vellum. I am quite happy with the colour made.

Colour Thursday is all about colouring.

今次製做的咭,我是先用Embosseing ink 塗上圖章,印在紙上;

我再distress markers 為沒有突粉的位置上色,由於突粉不會著色,即使我上色時不小心出界了也沒問題,過後用布抺便可。

A water-colour birthday card

It was one of my friends ‘birthday yesterday. I made this card for her. I love using water-colour these day. This is card is really simple, easy to make but the result is so good.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

As the Wednesday challenge from Simon Says Stamp is featuring Hero Arts stamp this week. I recalled that I have made this colourful birthday card using a hero arts wooden stamp. So I put this card into the challenge as well. Hope you’ll like it.

Cards made in Day 5 & 6 for the online card class

It was on Day 5 & 6 of the online card class about outline stamps. I got plenty of outline stamps and I like to use them in making card as they give a huge variety.

Here are the cards I made for the class.

The first one, I used Distress ink and drop water on it to make the image blend on paper.

The second one, I water-coloured on fabric, just try to do it on different surface. It is not easy to control when using water colour on fabric. The colours blend so much, through the pore under the embossing powder. Therefore, some colours even blend beyond the embossed area. But the effect is quite nice. I think.

Having a new plan!

I am really like paper craft. And, for such a lay-back person as me, I certainly need motivation to have more regular practice. Therefore, I have a plan like this: choosing a focus on some days in a week, for example, techniques, colouring etc; share the work on blog and enter challenges. I, hopefully, will start the plan as soon as possible.

These days, I am preparing the new school year. It will be started on 1st Sept and I am having bridging classes for junior and supplimentary classes for the senior. I also need to look after my 4 months old son, who loves playing so much, after work. I can barely have time to make cards.

By the way, I am still taking the online card class. So I would like to share with you some card I made in the past.

Card made in day 3 of Stretch Your Stamps online card class

In day 3, the focus is on alphabet stamps and sentiment stamps. The technique I loved is stamping letters on die-cut

When I was watching the teaching video, I knew that I must use the Your are pawesome stamps set from Simon says stamp for this technique. So here is the card I made.

The things I learnt, besides the technique, is that well planning and preparation is half-way to success.

Heat embossing and water coloring

I started to make this card few days ago when I got my new water colour. I used this teal stamp from HeroArts to play with the new water colour. I wanted to make it a “Bollywood” look with strong and attractive colors.

The petal stamp which I love so much. I have tried coloring it with markers before and I would like to try it with heat embossing in the future.

Card made in day 1 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 online card class

I am now taking an online card class called Stretch Your Stamps 2 from

Here is the card I made in day 1 class. Well, I am not quite satisfy with it and surely I need more practices.

The stamp I used here is the lattice background stamp from Hero arts. I like this stamp and it was the first bg stamp I bought.
