Chagllenge: Explore!

Hi! It has been almost a year since I started to make card. Time flies.

This card was make to enter the Wednesday Challenge of Simons Says Stamps. The theme is ” Transport it!” this week.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

I felt excited because I got a bicycle clear stamp bought long time ago and I’ve never used it. It is really a good chance to use it.

I already forgot where I bought the stamp but I think it is from Hot off the press. It is a very nice stamp with great details. I stamped it with Navy colour of Hero Hue ink, on a water colour paper which I coloured with water colours. Then, I cut it out. For the strips at the bottom, I stamped the  It mod borders LLD and Washi Pattern border on white paper with goldenlocks, coral reef, beanstalk green from Simon says inks and Navy colour from Hero Hue ink. The earth globe behind the bicycle is from Enjoy the journey of Simon says stamps and I colour it with Copic markers G00 and B00. Before I put everything together, I decide to add a vertical border to make the card more balanced. So I used the arrows or V shapes from V for Chevron of Winne & Walter and put the arrows together to make a vertical border. I stamp the border with cobblestone ink from Simon says inks. For the sentiment, it was quite interesting. I used the arrow head of an arrow from the Enjoy the journey stamp set. I coverd up the body the arrow and just inked the head part. Then I used the sentiment “EXPLORE” from the same stamp set as the body of the arrow. I also used the cobblestone ink for the sentiment. Finally I put everything together with foam adhesive for some dimensions. And that is it. I like this card and I am quite addicting to enter challenge. I think it is really a good way to push my creactivity and productivity. 🙂

have a nice day.

Fun Sunday – magic card: you brighten my day!

Hi everyone. I have bought the “watts up” stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. It arrived with my other purchases soon after my order confirmed. I knew at once what should I do with it when I first saw it: a magic card. I haven’t made a magic card before so I searched online and found a video teaching how to make a magic card: . So I used the “watts up” stamp set and followed the instruction from the video, and made this card

For the card inside, I stamp the light bulb stamp from the set with memento ink and coloured it with my newly bought Copic markers. I coloured the background with mustered seed and wild honey Distress ink.

I used a dark card stock bought from a local store as card base. I applied versa mark ink and embossing power to make a sun shine pattern. Then I adhered the magic card onto the card base.

As you can see, I made a mistake when I cut the window frame :p

Challenge: I thank my lucky stars for you

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Hi. It is Saturday and finally my got time to sit down and make a card. Sometimes, when I have no ideas what to do, I will always look go for the challenges. One of these is the Wednesday Challenge on Simon Says Stamp Blog. Today, I made a card to enter the challenge. The theme for this week is

Anything goes.

they are now featuring Hero Arts products so I chose a hero art background stamp for this card.
Among different products in this brand, I love their wooden stamps and the hero hue shadow ink the most. Therefore, I stamp the background with the hero art wooden background stamp using hero hue black ink, on a 5 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ white card stock. I applied the ink heavily to ensure the image could be stamped nice. Then, I used the puffy stars die cut from Lawn Fawn and star shape die cut from My Favorite Things on some gitter paper from DCWV to make some stars. For the sentiment, I white embossed the stamp from the lucky star stamp set of Lawn Fawn.
This card is not difficult to make. I don’t think it is eye-catching enough but I still love it.

Fun Sunday- Happy mid autumn festival

People now start making happy autumn card. We Chinese, also celebrate autumn in the Mid-autumn festival. The mid-autumn festival is on the 15th august of Chinese calendar. We eat moon-cake, carry and play lanterns, and also celebrate the beauty of the moon. It is a really fun and warm festival. I especially love this day.

Therefore, I have made two cards for the festival. I watched the video from different artists of how they create a galaxy background, by pressing the paper on distress inks. I used the same technique for the first card.

For the second one, I just colored it with water colour pencils only.

Hope you like the cards

Having a new plan!

I am really like paper craft. And, for such a lay-back person as me, I certainly need motivation to have more regular practice. Therefore, I have a plan like this: choosing a focus on some days in a week, for example, techniques, colouring etc; share the work on blog and enter challenges. I, hopefully, will start the plan as soon as possible.

These days, I am preparing the new school year. It will be started on 1st Sept and I am having bridging classes for junior and supplimentary classes for the senior. I also need to look after my 4 months old son, who loves playing so much, after work. I can barely have time to make cards.

By the way, I am still taking the online card class. So I would like to share with you some card I made in the past.

Card made in day 3 of Stretch Your Stamps online card class

In day 3, the focus is on alphabet stamps and sentiment stamps. The technique I loved is stamping letters on die-cut

When I was watching the teaching video, I knew that I must use the Your are pawesome stamps set from Simon says stamp for this technique. So here is the card I made.

The things I learnt, besides the technique, is that well planning and preparation is half-way to success.

Heat embossing and water coloring

I started to make this card few days ago when I got my new water colour. I used this teal stamp from HeroArts to play with the new water colour. I wanted to make it a “Bollywood” look with strong and attractive colors.

The petal stamp which I love so much. I have tried coloring it with markers before and I would like to try it with heat embossing in the future.

Card made in day 1 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 online card class

I am now taking an online card class called Stretch Your Stamps 2 from

Here is the card I made in day 1 class. Well, I am not quite satisfy with it and surely I need more practices.

The stamp I used here is the lattice background stamp from Hero arts. I like this stamp and it was the first bg stamp I bought.
